All electric underfloor heating systems fall under Part P of the building regulations in England and Wales, and that’s why you need a qualified electrician to do the final connection. Once the heating has been connected the electrician will issue you with either a minor works certificate if its only a fused spur that’s is required, or if it requires a new circuit they will issue an electrical installation certificate, and in addition to this you will require the Part P certificate for when you come to sell your home, the Part P certificate comes from the electrical contractors governing body, in our case NAPIT will issue it and can take a couple of weeks to come through.
