For those who don't know what ISO 9001:2000 is please find an explanation below and what it means for you the customer.

ISO 9001:2000 is an international standard for the requirements of "Quality Management Systems" (QMS). ISO stands for "International Organisation for Standardisation". The 9001 part is the actual reference number of the standard. So where does the 2000 part fit in? 2000 is the year in which this version of the standard was published. Prior to the 2000 version was the 1994 version which is now obsolete. Under the old system a company could be registered to ISO 9001, 9002 or 9003, depending on whether or not the organisation had elements of design and manufacturing. Under the new standard, all organisations are registered against the ISO 9001 and the scope of their activities is declared on their certificate.

The standard (ISO 9001:2000) is a template to compare against an organisations own management system. An independent body, such as QMS, will come into our offices and simply check that we actually have systems in place that are in accordance with the standard. Having ISO 9001 guides us to look at our management systems and devise a suitable infrastructure to do things in a structured and organised manner.

This means for you the customer, you can be sure that we have set systems in place from the moment you place your order right through to order fulfilment, it also demonstrates that we aren't working aimlessly scratching our heads wondering "where did I place Mrs Jones order details".
