1. What's the difference between a cable mat and a cable kit?

Answer:

Quite simply a cable kit is were the heating cable comes as one long piece of heating wire and you have to space the cable up and down the floor at a pre determined spacing.

A cable mat is the same wire as the cable kit but already pre-spaced on to a mesh so the hard work it done for you, all you have to do is roll the mat out and stick it down.

2. Can I lay the underfloor heating cable directly on to concrete?

Answer:

Yes you can but unless the concrete floor is insulated you will loose the heat downwards, when ever possible we recommend the use of WarmBoards tile backer board insulation.

3. What are tile backer boards?

Answer:

Tile backer boards are cement face foam boards that are installed on top of your sub-floor then the underfloor heating cable is installed and the tiled over, the tile backer boards reflect the heat upwards and maximise the benefits of the underfloor heating system.

4. Is it safe to use your underfloor heating cable in a bathroom or wet room?

Answer:

Both our heating cables are safe to use in a bathroom, each cable incorporates a tinned copper earth screen that completely protects the electric heating cable from any damage. Should a cable become damaged the electricity would flow to earth before leaking out and electrocuting anyone.

5. What would happen if I damaged the underfloor heating cable after I tiled the floor?

Answer:

All is not lost, we do sell repair kits for the underfloor heating cable if you think you know were the break is otherwise we can put you in touch with a specialist company that can trace the fault to within a tile and do a repair.

6. Can I connect the underfloor heating to my house electrics?

Answer:
